Is The Mesh Inserted During C Section Is The Cause For Pain Post Surgery ?

Had surgical mesh inserted aftera c-section in 2001. For about 6 years I have been to several doctors who have tried to find the cause of my pain. No one ever mentioned it could be the mesh. How can I tell if the mesh has eroded or if there is shrinkage or scaring?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The mesh that is placed inside the abdominal wall during the c-section can cause an excessive fibrosis in the area causing a chronic pain. The erosion of the mesh can be partially diagnosed by MRI scan.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
