Is The Small Hypo Echoic Area In The Uterus Endometrium A Matter Of Concern?
Hello Sir My LMp was on 6th March and the US scan on 28 May showed that GA by LMP should be 11w 6 days. It shows single intra uterine preg. Foetal movements and CA is also detected. CRL is 34.8 mm corrresponding with a mean gest age of 10 w and 3 days. Small hypoechoic area is seen in uterus endometrium 0f 10 mm .Is my report normal ? My Gynaec has prescibed me Susten 200 mg twice a day .How is susten helping me ? Thanky you so much
Hypoechoic ares suggest that the tissues in that area are pathologic. At this stage of pregnancy, it is mostly the lining of the uterus which nourishes the growing baby in the uterus. Susten is a medicine containing progesterone. Progesterone helps the uterine lining; i.e. endometrium secrete healthily to nourish the baby. Also it quietens the uterus if it is trying to contract prematurely. Repeat ultrasonography after a week or two will reveal whether hypoechoic area is regressing; i.e. whether the pathological changes in the tissues are getting normalised or the other way round. There are foetal movements, heart beats are present and CRL is adequate. The condition seems to be optimistic. So be patient, take Susten religiously and hope for the best.
