Is There A Possibility Of HIV With A Small Razor Cut On My Forehead?

im really confused on how deep a cut needs to be to reach the bloodstream? i received a small razor cut on my forehead and im afraid of hiv transmission! i dont know when i got it but i just noticed it and its freeking me out.From what i read on internet hiv has to come in contact with bloodstream and a minor superficial cut does not give access to bloodstream,but if its an open wound and blood is present isnt that bloodstream?please help

Hello,

Your fear is genuine. But you're at a risk of acquiring HIV only if the source of the blood is HIVpositive. Secondly infected blood over a cut wound as a risk of HIV infection.
I would advice my patient to undergo HIV screening test. If the situation demands post exposure prophylaxis than it needs to be given with in 72 hrs of the incident.
