Is There A Possible Interaction Between Bentyl And Flagyl?

Hi. How are you? My Mother has C-Diff Colitis and is using Flagyl as prescribed by the ER. She was also given Bentyl to take from her family doctor and wanted to know if there were any interactions she should be concerned about. She is also taking Risaquad.

Hello,
All the three drugs ( Bentyl- Dicyclomine , Flagyl- Metronidazole and Risaquad- Probiotics) do not have any interaction between themselves.
Please avoid alcohol containing products like cough syrups because alcohol-containing products have interaction with Metronidazole. It is also not advisable to take blood thinners like warfarin and seizure drugs like phenytoin.
Also please do not take any potassium tablets/capsules, drugs that are affected by slowed gut movement (such as metoclopramide, pramlintide).

Hope this helps.
Please write back for further queries.
wishing you good health.
