Is There A Risk Of A Bad Drug Interaction In An Elderly Person?
My 97 year old mother dx'd w FVL has been on Coumadin for 11 years,,Recently, care facility did not give her meds and she had a TIA after her INR dropped to 1. Has Parkinsons, being treated with Warfarin, Ativan, BP meds and Sinemet. Is there a risk of a bad drug interaction?
Hi, I went through all the medications and the history. It is difficult to predict any drug interactions, but while prescribing in the elderly everything will be noted for.
Medications are important and needs to given regularly as there is a risk of rebound effects, like shooting of hypertension, or worsening of psychiatric conditions, etc. Among the list given, there is not major life threatening interaction. Any further queries, happy to help you again.
