Is There Any Chances Of Re-prolapse For Robotic Surgery Mediated Uterus And Cervix Removal?
Hi, I will be having the davinci surgery on April 14th for possible total hysterectomy.. also i already had last october 15, 2013 the prolapse surgery and i reprolapsed on the third month, so i am choosing the robotic surgery with a different doctor, on this robotic surgery i am going to encounter the uterus removal and maybe my cervix since i am bleeding too much and i am having a lot of pelvic pain, i really pray for a success surgery this time, do you think that i will reprolapsed?
Hi, Welcome to HCM, I am sure that along with removal of uterus and cervix, your Doctor will also do repair of Cystocele and Rectocele. In that procedure, they have to remove the extra loose peritoneal tissue, and tighten the covering peritoneum. These are the main steps to avoid prolapse of bladder , rectum, and uterus through loose pouch of peritoneum. I hope that, your Doctors have diagnosed the cause of bleeding and pain. Pain could be because of prolapse, but there should be other reason for bleeding. If there is no other factors like obesity, chronic cough, constipation, stress incontinence, and proper surgery is done, then it will not prolapse again. I would advice that you must have proper discussion with your operating surgeon before surgery, that what exactly they are going to do, and what should you expect after surgery. Best of luck Dr H Hamdani
