Is There Any Doctor Available To Interpret This Report?
Just had and endovaginal scanning and found that the right ovary measures 2.6 x 2.9 x 2.9 cm and contains a 2.2 x 2.1 x1.9 complex cyst with an internal septation. No adnexal mass or free fluid is evident. I had my uterus removed about 12 years ago and I am now 45 years old. Should I be worried?
Complex cyst in right ovary need follow up scan besides clinical observation. Complex ovarian cyst may be due to many reasons. Follow up and further investigation like tumour markers,Contrast CT Scan of abdomen is needed due to your age. Most ovarian cysts disappear in 8 to 12 weeks.Watchful waiting is recommended at any age if there are no symptoms and the ultrasound test shows a simple fluid-filled cyst.Because of the risk of ovarian cancer is higher among women who had menopause, regular ultrasound and blood tests are required until the cyst disappears. Medicines like oral contraceptive can be prescribed. Surgery may be required if it is causing symptoms. Hope i have answered your query.
