Is There Any Genetic Disorder Causing Anomaly In A Premature Infant?
Premature infant born at 32 weeks @ 1 kilo 20grams , female, emergency c-section due to heart rate " too stable, ie: unreactive". Baby has shown to have disharmonic hands. Left hand showing rather long fingers ( it cand bend to her forearm). Dr.s have not been ver forth coming in possible reasons. Baby tested positive for toxoplasmosis anti-bodies. Any genetic disorders or other reasons you can think of for such an anomolie?
Hi...by what you quote it could be Ehler Danlos syndrome or Marfan's syndrome but at this age the baby's joint will be too pliable..so it is too premature to comment on syndromic association now. If I were your paediatrician I would concentrate on Toxoplasmosis right now. Regards - Dr. Sumanth
