Is There Any Permanent Treatment For Thyroid?
hi i m a female of 29yrs age.
hi ,recently i have undergone thyroid test adn my TSH level is approx 17.
I wanna plan a baby .
Can i take the risk of trying to get thyroid levels down naturally by diet and exercise or homeopathy ?My doctor has suggested me THyroup 50mg. I delivered a baby in Sep 2009 . But the baby could not survive due to Asphyxia neonatorum.
THen I had a miscarriage in july 2010 when i was 10 weeks pregnant as no heart beat was found.
My basic question is can this thyroid get cured or i need to take the above medicine life long ans start it immediately to avoid further complications?

You should immediately start treatment to correct the TSH level.
It may be a cause of infertility, abortion or fetus malformation.
An endocrinologist will typically recommend levothyroxine. It is the only approved medication in treating underactive thyroid and correcting TSH level. This is a prescription medication that is the scientifically sound way to replace the deficient hormone in the human body.
Please consult your endocrinologist for a prescription for the same.
The ideal dose varies from person to person and a blood test 6 weeks after starting with 50 mcg for TSH in a laboratory is extremely useful in determining the appropriate dose in continuance.
