Is There Any Relation Between Bloating And Umbilical Hernia?

hi doctor, I am a 33 year old female.I have been diagonised with umbilical hernia,about 1.5 cm in diameter and has herniated fat.I am going in for surgery next week. I had my gall bladder removed earlier this year by laproscopy.I have pain the umbilical area and excessive bloating and pelvic pain.Could this be related to the umbilical hernia? Thanks R.Thomas

Yes if the hernia gets obstructed then you may have pain and distension of abdomen. Just lie down on your back with knees folded the gas will pass down and bloating reduced and get the surgery done as scheduled.
