Is There Any Risk In Consuming Zyrtec Daily?

Hey, I have a concern about a doctor suggesting my children take zyrtec daily. Is there any risk for that? does the drug become less affective. Little backstory I see the children every weekend and half the summer. When I see them they have no issues including 2-3 week long visits with out taking it. Yet the doctor is still saying its mandatory. From what I can find it can impair the thinking and reactions.

Welcome to the HCM,
Cetrizine can be prescribed for long period especially in some allergic condition. But I do have some reservations regarding the madatory long term use. Surely it will cause lot of drowsiness and decreased alertness.
