Is There Any Safe Pin Worm Medications For Infants That Can Be Given Before The Tape Tests Being Done?

My 13 month old was exposed to pinworms by his grandmother. My family was at her house a lot for the holidays. Everyone exposed took Reese s Pinworm medicine as a precaution. I want to give my baby the medicine also as a precaution before a possible infestation occurs in him. My pediatrician s office will not give me the approval. They said I need to do the tape test to make sure he has them. But, then it will be too late? Is there any safe pinworm medicine for babies?? Thank you, Jody

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Don't worry the treatment of pin worm is as simple as the prevention. I advise you to consult your pediatritian for diagnosis and treatment.The drug for prevention and treatment is the same.
You can give a dose every year for prevention.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms albendazole5mg as a single dose.
