Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I take Xanax for anxiety and depression. I have a slight chest deformity and Xanax seems to let me live life without having to worry as much about what I look like and just enjoy life. The problem is my tolerance is ridiculous. I am taking up to 20 MG a day or more and when I run out 2 weeks early, I am extremely depressed and socially awkward. Anti-Depressants do not work for me. I ve tried multiple. It s kind of a lose-lose situation. On the Xanax, I can enjoy life (Family, Sports, Church, God), but off them I feel isolated and scared and more aware of my deformity. Any advice? My tolerance is skyrocketing and I m worried. Any Advice? Please keep this message as confidential as possible. Even though it s now viral lol. Thanks. B,
though I would recommend a mini mental state exam first to rule out whether you have depression or anxiety and categorize your meds accordingly for you in consult with your doctor
wishing you best of health
Thanks
