Is There Any Substiute For Lisinopril Htzp Other Than Triamterene Htzp And Losartin Htzp?
I am currently on lisinopril htzp I have tried 2 other meds - triamterene-htzp and losartin-htzp, which with both of these I had bad rashes as a side effect. the cough with the lisinopril htzp is troublesome and I am looking yet again, for another option to try. i seem to have the side effects and so I m looking for a new med that I can live with. any suggestions?
There are many other anti-hypertensives that you can try. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker and hydrochlorthiazide is a diuretic. Both are commonly used alternatives and are completely different from the medicines you have so far tried. Beta blockers like atenolol and metoprolol can also be tried.
There also are medicines like enalapril and ramipril which are similar to lisinopril and you can try them and see if they cause less cough. Telmisartan, olmesartan and valsartan are like losartan that you tried earlier, but one cannot say for sure if these too will cause you a rash.
Hope this helps you. Best wishes.
