Is There Any Topical Cream That Soothes Or Numbs The Herpes Area?

Is there anything you can do to treat the severe pains of the first outbreak of general herpes? I was proscribed 3 days worth of 2 pills a day of Valtrex and 800 mg of ibruprofen, is there any topical cream that soothes or numbs the area? I need something to help easy the pain, nothing seems to work!

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You can consider the use of topical agents such as lidocaine or benzocaine.

These are topical anesthestics and would help to reduce any discomfort that you might be experiencing.
You should continue the ibuprofen or any other oral pain killer to use along with it.

I hope this helps
