Is There Anything To Worry From The Urine Test Of A 3 Year Old Child?

My daughter is nearing to 3 years and from 2-3 days back onwards, she is stops urinating after passing very little and she told she is paining. We did a lab test (urine routine examination) after consulting a pediatrician. Got the result right now and it is showing Albumin - Trace and WBC/HPF - (8-10) and RBC- (0-2) and Epithelial Cells - (0-2) , Crystal Type/HPF and Cast Type/HPF are both Nil.Lab people suggested to consult doctor. Is there some issue?

Hi

Pus cells more than 5 in the urine suggests there is an infection.

It's better that you consult a doctor, who will examine your child for any local causes in the genitals.
If local causes like ulcer etc are seen, they have to be treated.

If no local causes are seen, its better to do urine culture to know the colony count of the infection causing bacteria and to know the antibiotics to which the organism is sensitive to.

In the mean time give her plenty of fluids like water, juices, soups, milk etc so that she passes urine often.

Hope my answer helps.
Wish your daughter good health.
