Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Feb. 08 I was diagnosed with epithelial low grade serous carcinoma 3c. I underwent debunking, removal of my appendix, momentum, had my bladder and intestine scraped. Lymph Nodes were fine. I underwent chemo; paclitaxel, cisplatin and avastin. I have been getting normal range CA 125 levels and normal CT scans. However the last 8 mos. my CA 125 levels are increasing. Last June levels had increased, to 10, Dec. was 14, March is 20. I am still within normal range but terrified. My treatment has been with a prominent teaching facility. My question is, is this common in reoccurance?
Epithilial low grade serouse carcinoma is less malignant. All possible treatment have been given. Monitoring should be done by oncologist. His advice should be followed. It is not common in recurence.
