Is Throbbing Pain In The Ankle When I Am On My Feet For A While Long After An Untreated Car Accident Injury Something Serious?

I got in a car accident 6 years ago. My ankle hurt but I didn’t go to the doctor because I wasn’t insured. Now every time I am on my foot too much I get a throbbing pain on that ankle. It hurts for days and sometimes I can’t ecen stand on it. Should I be concerned?

Hello,

I recommend consulting with an orthopedist for a physical exam and performing an ankle joint MRI in order to be sure that everything is okay with the ligaments and cartilages of this joint. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
