Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I have broken some mysterious bone in my ankle ( I live in China and no one knows the name of the bone in English) It is on the outside of my left ankle. This has been quite the ordeal to even get some kind of hard support for my foot. I have what they called a cold cast now, a piece of plastic that was molded to my foot and is secured to it with velcro. I was told no weight baring for 6 weeks and 100 days of bed rest. Today however it has started to tingle from the tips of my toes up to my mid shin. Is this normal?
There is possibility of cast tightness. You should not neglect this problem ,consult your doctor. Watch for swelling on toes. Limb elevation can reduce pain, Regular physiotherapy and exercises are very important for early rehabilitation as my patients find much relief by these therapies.
