Is Toe Joint Pain, Redness, And Swelling Due To Gout?

Hi, During the night my joint on my left big toe started to ache, it is red this morning and looks swollen, i was thinking it maybe gout? although i have never had it before. I have just been prescribed Erythromycin as a second course of antibiotics for a chest/throat injection although i have only started taking the tablets this morning i wantd to know what to take to ease the pain in my toe thats okay to take with the antibiotics?
