Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr. Rynne, My name is Peri & I am concerned about a friend of mine. We are to go on a trip; however, she just found out that she is to have stent surgery on Sept 1 & we are to leave on the 14th. She is 61 and has other medical issues. Is it safe for her to go? Thank you...
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Putting a stent is a day case most of the times, and after stent is placed most of the patients are sent home on same day. there is no hard restriction following it. So, if there is a 13 days gape between stent procedure and the visit, I hope nothing to worry you can enjoy your journey. However all procedures are not same and your the final advice should come from her own doctor who would perform the procedure but I hope it wont be a lot different.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
