Is Travelling Safe After A Surgery?

I m having this surgery tomorrow using a mesh sling. I want to leave on Friday, the 12th, to drive to Southern Calif to visit family. I have a great-niece going with me to help with driving etc. The trip is about 6-7 hrs. one way and I ll be coming home on Tuesday, the 16th. Should I be ok to make this trip? 2. When will I be able to use swimming pool for aerobic exercises?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you can do the trip and I recommend you not to increase abdominal pressure. The swimming can be started in three weeks after the wound is fully recovered but can't elevate heavy weights for 3 months.

Do a moderate physical activity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
