Is Twitching Sensation On The Left Side Of The Face A Matter Of Concern?

I recently started having twitching on the left side of my face, not a lot maybe 24 times in 6 months. In this same time period I have also started hearing a fixing noise (like pop rocks or a highly carbonated soda) in my neck by my head.... Just wondering if it is something to be alarmed about? They don't disrupt my life (no pain etc.) So do I need to call and make an appointment for this and are the two even related (I did both last night while I was trying to sleep but not at the same time, its never at the same time)

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

You may be suffering from a vestibular migraine or trigeminal neuralgia or partial seizures etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Need to be examined for ear, the central nervous system for stroke, migrainous episodes and facial nerve compression.

Please get it done MRI brain, serum electrolytes, hemoglobin status then consult your ENT specialist/physician, they will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu,
