Is Ventorlin Better Than Piriton CS For Cough And Wheezing In Children?
Hi, my son is 6+ years old and he does get bad cough and weezing in winters. i normally give him Piriton CS syrup as advised by doctor along with i neubulize him when it gets worse. Is there any better syrup which should be given to him like ventorlin. Normally his cough is not dry and he usually has mucus. Please suggest on this.
Piriton syrup contains chlorphenamine mostly for dry cough or allergy coughing. If you have cough with mucus, you should rule out pneumonia first. If not, then should give mucolytics like Carbocysteine or N-acetylcysteine.
Apply vapor rub on chest and upper back before bedtime. If still no improvement should consult with lung specialist (pulmonologist).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. I wish you fast recovery.
