Is Very Minor Swelling With Small Amount Of Blood On The Place Of Hernia S Surgery A Cause Of Worry?

i had a very large inguinal hernia surgery and 5.5 weeks ago, my wound was closed with only using steri-strips. They have been off for a little while now and generally my recovery has not been to bad, some swelling in areas and healing ridge where incision is, which has started to go down now. my Incision is pretty much healed just one area on the far left side is swollen a very tiny bit and small amount of blood, when i say small i mean very small has came through. No pain at the site, i cannot see any extended redness around the incision, just some small bruising where the swelling is. No fever, no pain, very mobile compared to what i was. Should i be alarmed?

Thank you for the query.

No reason to be alarmed or worried. But you need to have it under observation. Sometimes in the wound area stitches left under the skin irritate tissues. This causes small abscess formation as the body tries to get rid of this stitches. In such case, simple stitch removal should help.
But as there is no redness, swelling, pain nothing serious is happening. If small bruising will be getting worse or wont go away, please consult your surgeon.
