Is Yellow Dermographism Treatable?

Is yellow dermographism treatable? I understand it is due to bile deposits on the skin...We have a patient who had Weill s Syndrome and he has developed urticaria and the physicians are thinking along the line of bile deposits on the skin. I understand that Anti-histamines can be used, which one is the best option?

hi there.

1. dermographism is a symptom not disease.

2. if we treat underlying cause, which may range between simple dust particles to any infection, automatically it reflects on the symptoms.

3. here you need to address what are the causes for bile acid deposition, and if we able to correct it , then automatically dermographism can be corrected.

4. best antihistamine for symptomatic relief would be levocetrizine 10 mg along with monteleukast 10 mg combination.

this will help him in relieving itching and subsequent dermographism.
