Is Z-pack The Right Medication For Swollen Throat With White Pockets And High Fever In A Child?
hi my daughter has been sick for 3 days with high fever of 103.8 for 2 days. Her throat is swollen
and has some white pockets on it. A z-pack was called in for her and she has been on it for
3 days now. She is also alternating Ibuprophen and Tylenol for fever, Her temp is finally
normal now but throat is still really swollen. Do you think the z-pack is all she needs for
this. I do know that after she finishes the z-pack it will continue working about 5 days after.

This is a case of acute purulent tonsillitis and needs the antibiotic coverage for atleast 5-7 days with saline gargles along with analgesics hence Management which you are already geting is sufficient .ok
