Isolation From Friends And Family, Loneliness, No Social Life. Is This Depression?

Are these signs of depression? What does depression look like? I isolate myself from friends and family because I fear they either won't except me or I might be the person who dulls the excitement at the occasion. I'd rather be alone when invited "out", and I usually always say I would rather not get together or make up excuses that I have things to do when I really don't, in these ways I enjoy not allowing myself to experience the social life and at times I have no desire and don't feel up to being around others, or even mustering enough motivation to get small things accomplished. Nothing excites me anymore.

You did not mention your age. No problem.
You can be energetic. Motivation is the need of hour.

Everyone want to be lazy and just sit and eat. Our needs makes us to work for a living.
That is motivation. You lack it simply.
You lack motivation because you don't have any concrete aim at your life.
