Itching In Anus After Passing Bowels, Sitting Down Provides Relief. Treatment Options?
Hi, For the last week, after a bowel movement , my anus itches very badly when i walk. Sitting provides immediate relief. My bowel movements do not hurt, and I have never strained, I am usually in and out in 2-3 minutes. Making sure I am very clean does not seem to help. I do however do lots of heavy weight lifting 4x week. My diet is very healthy, with a high fiber intake.
Welcome to HCM. You should de-worm yourself. Pinworms ( round worms, hookworms, tapeworms, etc ) cause anal itching and discomfort. Make sure that the anal region is dry, moisture around the area can cause more discomfort and enhance itching. Psoriosis can also be a cause.
Get clinically examined to rule out any fistulas that may be the cause of your restlessness. Get stool ( R/E, C/S ) and blood tests done. Avoid scratching. Application of a thin film of medicated oitments can be of some help. Take care of your hygiene, keep nails clean, wear cotton cloths that are not tight fitting.
Mebendazole or albendazole tablets can be of help to you. Consult your doctor before taking any medications. Take care.
