Itching In Vagina And Anal Opening, Bright Red Blood On Tissue While Wiping, Mucus Like Discharge. Taking Monistat. Suggestions?
Hi, I was hoping you wpuld be able to give me an idea of what I have. About a month ago I started having severe itching in the vagina and my anal opening. I figured it might be a yeast infection so I took monistat 1. Before this I didn't have my period for a few months but shortly after using monistat I began menstruating. Now I have slight anal itching but there is bright red blood on the tissue when I wipe. Sometimes there is a clear mucus like discharge. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Hello, Welcome to healthcaremagic. From your query, i understood that you are suffering from some infection. Most probably a fungal infection called candidiasis. Bleeding may be due to your scratch of skin in genital region. Microscopic examination of wet mount mucosal scrapings or potassium hydroxide smear are required to diagnose the fungal infection. Start treatment as soon as possible. After confirmation of diagnosis, Antifungal drugs miconazole topical (monistat) and Terbinafine oral tablet may be used for treatment. It is better to treat the partner also. keep the genitals clean and dry. Drink plenty of water. use mild and unscented soaps.
Hope this helps. Take care.
