Just Completed Periods, Pain In Vagina Near Hip Bone
i just got off my period two days ago, but i dont think it has anything to do with my menstral cycle but im experencing sharp pains ( light not extreme )they go and then stop almost like a traffic light there internally on my right side right above my vagina near my hip bone please someone help me find a answer im planning on going to the emergency room tommarro so i can find out sooner just incase it is serious
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
The sharp pain could be due to some kind of infection or cyst (which could become infected). I would suggest that you see a gynaecologist although this does not sound like an emergency. An infection would be likely particularly if you have some fever or some vaginal discharge ( accompanied by some odor or itching). This would need treatment with some antibiotics.
Otherwise, it could be just some cramping, something a lot of women experience in the time just after a period. I dont think you need to do anything about that and it would g off on its own.
I think it would be best if you see your gynaecologist. Its unlikely that we have something major on our hands.
Hope this helps.
Regards
