Knee Injury, Yellowish Substance Present Under Skin. Suggestions?

I fell and scraped off around a 3 or 4 cm wide circle of flesh off my knee, I'm pretty sure I can see the bone but there is a yellowish cartilage substance that is building up over the bone but under the skin. Is it possible to get stiches on my knee? And if so what if there is no skin for them to sew together? It's pretty nasty and all sorts of colors. I have it wrapped up but I'm not sure if I should let it have oxygen so I can try to let it scab over but I also don't think there is enough flesh for it to scab over.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
You should be visiting a doctor who can evaluate the wound, preferably orthopedician . The information that you give is insufficient .But what can be discerned is that the wound has wide gap and it should be debrided of dead tissue and skin approximation should be done to prevent bone or joint infection which can be notorious if already there. Do visit a doctor soon
