Large, Sore Bruised Area With Dark Colored Blemishes On The Site Of Mosquito Bite. Reason?

About two weeks ago, I noticed what appeared to be three mosquito bites on the back of my leg. About three or four days ago, they became what looked like dark-coloured blemishes which are now swollen. A large bruise has formed around the area (7-9 inches across and 5-7 inches wide) and is extremely sore. There is a firmness behind the blisters. Any ideas?
