Late Onset Of Periods With Minimal Flow Lasting Longer Than Usual. What Could The Cause Be?
hi, I have been having regular menstrual period for as long as i remember, but since 3 months ago, it came in almost two weeks late and the flow was very minimal, it almost took more than one week, unlike during my regular menstrual period before which only last to 3-4 days. Then this month, still came in late of more than two weeks before i had a flow and it it is so scarce and since then I have been having these minimal flows for almost 3 weeks now. What could this be?
Hi, Your symptoms are suggestive of hormonal imbalance leading to delayed cycles followed by metropathic picture due to slow shedding. Causes could be many varying from sudden weight disturbances, stress-related situations, infections-local or general, use of certain medications and cysts of the ovaries etc. Since this is of a recent onset, it can be easily corrected as the disturbance may not be much. Please see a specialist for a proper appraisal of the situation and complete investigation to aid further management. Maintain a healthy weight, healthy diet and regular exercise. Take care.
