Leg Injury During Game. Swollen, Tender To Touch, Numbness
3 weeks ago, during a soccer game a girl kicked me really hard on the inner lateral side of my tibia on my right leg. After it happened, from my knee down (including my feet/toes) went completley numb for about 3 hours and it was really deformed with a dip then a large bump following it closer to my ankle. It swelled alot and i went to the doctor shortly after and they told me i did not break it, and that it was just a contusion and it would feel better in 2-3 days. It has been 3 weeks now and it is still swollen, tender to touch, and i still have no feeling in a small part of my shine (even tried a pin). I can walk on it fine but definetly cannot jump or have anyone touch/push on it. I also still have the dip and bump when you run your finger down it.
Dear Concerned.,
Thanks for writing to us.
What was the immediate first aid taken by you when you were injured. I think you were not given any first aid at all. Immersion in cold water/ Cold Compresses have to be immediately given to lessen the damage and further aggravation of painful inflammation in first 48 hours.
Importantly Bed Rest and Rest to Part are very important.
In addition X-Ray of the part to be taken. NSIADs/H2 receptor Antagonists/Proteolytic Enzymes/Vitamins supplimentation/Immobilisation of injured part to be done.
I think you have not followed the above protocol. Pls consult an Ortho Surgeon/Sports Physician.
Wish you a speedy recovery.,
Best Regards.,
