Lethargic, Cough, Running Nose, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Loss Of Appetite, Constant Sleeping. Anything To Worry?

My son recently got the flu bug that is going around, it started with cough/runny nose and turned into vomiting and diarrhea. The vomiting has passed but he still has diarrhea. He is extremely lethargic with no appetite. Is he on the path to getting better or should I be worried about the constant sleeping and barely eating?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Children loose appetite during viral illness.Since your child also at present has diarrhoea keep him well hydrated by offering him sips of oral rehydration solution, coconut water or butter milk . Give him probiotics like lactobacillus satchet twice a day.

His urine output should be adequate. If his urine output reduces and he refuses to accept anything orally and develops dehydration then get him examined by his doctor.

Bye
Take care
