My son just turned five last week. On Friday afternoon, he had diarrhea -- three separate occasions within a few hours, decreasing in volume each time. Saturday, I kept him on a limited diet, and he had a normal bowel movement that evening. On Sunday, back to a normal diet, and diarrhea returned in the afternoon; but this time, it had flecks of red in it the first time, then pinkish mucus the second and third time. This morning, he woke up and had a small amount of pink-tan diarrhea. His appetite is normal, and he has had no vomiting or fever. Should I be worried about the color of his stool, get him checked by a doctor, or just continue to monitor for now and go back to limiting his diet?
