Loose Bowel Movement. Why Is It So Smelly?

Morning, wondering if you could help me, every morning for months I have this sudden urge to go to the toilet for a bowel movement it's quite a lot and very loose and is very smelly, pretty embarrassing really. I have spoken with my gp and they said its nothing to worry about. But it is bothering me as I used to have hard normal bowel movements that never smelt like this.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Loose stools are often associated with gastroenteritis.
Bulky, sticky and bad odorous stools are associated with malabsorption.
You need to get stool examination.
A routine stool examination routine and microscopy, test for fat droplets and for occult blood will help to know the cause of these symptoms.
In case of infection, anti-microbials will help to clear the infection.
In case of malabsorption, the cause and site of mal-absorption has to be found out.
Some more investigations are needed for that.
Presence of occult blood is due to any trauma, polyp or ulcer in the intestine.
Again the cause of blood in stools has to be found with the help of some more investigations.

Thanks and take care
