Loss Of Strength, Dexterity In Hands. Main Cause Of Bilateral Hand, Wrist Pain?

what is the main cause of bilateral hand and wrist pain. had emg test said normal no x-ray or blood work done. have loss in hand strength and dexterity. doing physical therapy on hands and wrist. when lift object with left arm get shooting pain that goes to the elbow very stumped. doc said that it is more likely do to repetitive motion. can you help shed some light on this. thanks frank parkki

The likeliest cause can be either disc herniation or collapse of the vertebra in the neck region.

MRI of the cervical (neck region) spine will come out with the real cause of your problems. If MRI is normal, nerve conduction velocity would be required.

You may discuss the entire case with your treating doctor, who knows what course of action is warranted.
