Loud Pop In Ankle, Swollen And Bruised. X-ray Shows No Breakage. What Might This Be ?

I fell down the stairs 7 days ago I heard a loud crack/pop my ankle swelled right away and bruised the day or 2 after its some what sore still and still swollen and bruised along the bottom of my foot. When its cold out my leg and ankle hurt. I had an xray right after it happened at er they said no break should I go back?

I can understand your problem the sound that you are experiencing could be due to soft tissue injury, there must be accumulation of blood that might have clotted and giving such sound but that is no need to worry it will come around soon, have nice day.
