Low Grade Fever, Chills, Vomiting, Low Thyroid. Husband Having Fever, Watery Stool, Stomach Pain. Normal Scan. Any Ideas?

Dr, I have never been sick till today.I had a low fever(for me)99.8 I run 96 due to low thyroid.I also had chills & vomited
about 6 times(a lot)Felt weak & shaky.Is this a stomach virus?
My hubby was sick 101 temp but no vomiting but had lots of watery stool so much With stomach pain .Took to Dr & they did Iv & ultra sound of ab nothing showed could we have the same thing?

Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
From Your query i understood that both are suffering from Acute gastroenteritis or food poisoning.
In Acute gastroenteritis, ultrasound is normal.
Cause could be bacterial or viral or parasites.

Take plenty of water and Oral rehydration salts.

Please do Stool culture and examine stool for ova and cyst.


then Start empirical treatment with ciprofloxacin and metronidazole tablets.
for vomiting take ondansetron.

Please avoid dehydration by taking plenty of water and salts.
As dehydration can cause shock.
