Lower Jaw Bone A Little Bit Lower On One Side. Causes ?
My son who is now 16 has alway had one side of his lower jaw bone a little bit lower then the . I ve noticed recently that it seems to be getting worse. The left side is about 1 inch or so lower then the right. His teeth on the bottom are also quite tight together, no overlapping though. What could be causing this and should I see a doctor immediately? Thank you.
thanks for your query, i have gone through your question, the asymmetry on the face could be because increased in bone height and width because of many reasons like hemimandibular hypertrophy or hypotrophy, hemifacial hypertrophy or hypertrophy, condylar hyperplasia or hypoplasia....or it can be because of cherrubism.... so kindly consult your oral physician and get radiographic investigations done like orthopantomograph, PA view, if required a CT of the mandible after consulting doctor...
