Lump On Head, Hard. Should We Worry Because It Hurts?
My baby(8 months old) has a lump on her head. Its soft though not hard like a normal lump. She was with a babysitter all day as her father and I were at work. We took her to the Er and they did a catscan and checked her out they said everything seemed ok but I m still worried. She s acting normal and it doesn t seem to hurt her should I still he worried? And what causes the lump to be soft and squishy?
Hi, Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic. If the lump is there since birth, you can think it is due to meningocele. If it is of recent onset, it could be due to a trauma which caused contusion in her scalp layers. As CT scan is normal, nothing to worry. Observe for any progression in the size and if you find any increase, consult the pediatrician for follow up. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
