Lumps In The Armpit. Normal Blood And Kidney Test Reports. Feeling Pins And Needles In The Arm. Reason?

Hi I noticed a lump under my right armpit 3 week ago, after two weeks got it checked by my gp who said to give it 2 more weeks and then maybe get a biopsy. Then I got one more under that arm and a week later had three under the left armpit which were olive sized. Went back to another gp who gave me strong antibiotics for one week. They did go down but the day before I had one more come up under my right armpit. Been back to another gp who took blood from me. Got the results from reception today, blood count ok and kidney and liver function ok. Have an appointment Tuesday to discuss. My other symptoms are permanent pins and needles in my right arm and pain around my ribs and down my right side. What could it be?

Hello dear,

1. The lumps in the armpit are enlarged lymph nodes.
Usually they are indicative of infection & your Doctor had prescribed antibiotics suspecting the same.
But as they have not subsided, it will be better to get a biopsy done.

2. The pin & needle sensation in the arm is attributed to the compression of nerves in the armpit by the enlarged lymph nodes.

3. Pain around the ribs is also attributed to the direct compressive effects of enlarged lymph nodes on the musculature of the chest wall.

So, kindly consult your treating Physician & discuss regarding this.
The biopsy reports will be helpful in deciding further plan of management.
