The loss of the spinal curve seen in the lumbar area (forward curve)is lost.Dessication or drying up of the intervertebral disc degenerative process secondary to aging /trauma/repetitive strain. There is bulgingi of the prolapsed discs at the L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels causing pressure thecal sac or covering of the spinal cord..There is indentation of the spinal covering/sac at the L5 level with compression of the spinal nerve roots due to the disc prolapse and spinal stenosis at L4-L5.The facet joints at the L5-S1 level are hypertrophied or swollen with swelling posteriorly at L4-l5.
