MRI Showed Lesion In Hips. History Of Fractured Left Hip And Stress Reaction In Right Hip. Pain In Hip Going To Back And Fingers. Serious?
I recently recovered from a fractured left hip and a stress reaction in my right hip. When I was in the MRI they notice a lesion. However, my doctors believed it grew too slowly to be cancerous. I've had blood work done and my calcium and vitamin D levels are fine but I get hurt very easily and I'm very often in pain. My hips hurt almost everyday and the pain has traveled to my back and even my fingers. It feels like the actual bone hurts. Any idea what could cause it or what I should ask my doctor?
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM. It looks from the description, that you might have sustained a "pathological fracture" of the left hip secondary to a lesion in your hip joint. And the fracture might have resulted due to minor trauma (I suppose). I just want to make it very clear that pain arising from the hip joint will not go (radiate) beyond the knee joint. And in your case, the pain is going upto toes. So I suspect some problem in the Lumbar spine which is causing the pain that is going down upto toes. An MRI scan is needed to the spinal lesions. Consult an orthosurgeon and follow his advice accordingly. Hope this helps
