Hi!
welcome to HCM!
Most DCIS appears as microcalcifications on a
mammogram. microcalcifications are not DCIS, they can be an indication that DCIS is present.
Mammograms cannot diagnose DCIS they just screen and suggest the possibility of DCIS only a
biopsy can GIVE THE DIAGNOSIS.
BI-RADS 4 means that the breast tissue is extremely dense
The breast is made up of more than 75% fibrous and glandular tissue. This can lead to missing some cancers.
Your mammogram suggests DCIS you must get a FNAC/biopsy done to confirm it.
Ductal carcinoma in situ is the earliest stage at which
breast cancer can be diagnosed. It's known as Stage 0 breast cancer. The prognosis for women diagnosed with this form of breast cancer is excellent. The vast majority of women diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ are cured.
Even though ductal carcinoma in situ is noninvasive, it is imperative that women with the disease receive medical treatment because it can be a precursor of invasive cancer.
I sincerely hope this will help you!
take care!
