Medical Advice On Continuation Of Medicine Levothyroxine

I had near total thyroidectomy 10 years ago, I have been on levothyroxine for 5 years and stop taking it up to now because of palpitation, I have normal body, I don't get fat, tired easily but my tsh is 75, I start taking my levothyroxine back but still I have palpitation, any anwers for this

Hi..you have mentioned you had thyroidectomy but you have not mentioned whether it was total or sub total or hemi thyroidectomy..If TSH is high you need to continue on the medication even though you are not symptomatic.Never decide on the dosage of medicine unless investigated and interpreted by doctors.A higher supplementation can cause arrythmia.reduced bone mass weight loss etc and lower dosage water lodging ,slow heart weight gain etc..but not all exhibit symptoms .But symptom of palpitation in your case has to be investigated search for other causes starting from anemia.Consult a doctor in person and take it up and feel free to get back for a second opinion and query.
