Metallic Smell In The Nose. Taking Multivitamins. Weight Loss. Reason?

For the last year and a half I have had this metallic smell in my nose . More bothersome than anything. At first I thought I was lacking a mineral, so began taking a mulitvitamin, however the smell has not gone away and has become more prominent whenever I m active or am moving around a lot. Its not a constant smell, only intermittent. What could this be the result of? Around the same time it began, I lost 30 pounds and stopped eating red meat...

My first advice is stop self medications there are many causes for metallic smell in the nose as follows
1.multi vitamin deficiency.
2.poor oral hygiene.
3.inflammation of the gums called gingivitis.
4.sinusitis.
5.upper respiratory tract infections.
6.gastritis.
7.poor absorption of nutrients from the gut.
8.brain disorder.
So consult a dr for further investigations and for the right treatment. Hope this answers your query.
