Miscarriage, Fibroids, Bulky Uterus. There Is A Hanging Mass In The Uterus But Unidentified
hi, i had 20 weeks missed miscarriage (evacuation of the uterus) in July 2013, my first period was 29 days long (light to heavy to light)
second period was for 9 days (bleeding in between) and now 5 days and counting (after my 3rd day, bleeding lightly in betwwen)
I have fibroids but my doctor told me that there is a hanging mass in the uterus but unidentified, uterus is bulky as well.
Hi, Thanks for the query. After miscarriage spotting can be seen for 2 to 3 weeks. It will take some time for regularization of the periods after miscarriage. The possible causes for the hanging mass you mentioned are : - Endometrial polyp. -Protruded sub mucosal fibroid. -Retained products of conception. So if you are having any problem with that mass, like pain abdomen, excessive bleeding during periods etc better to get evaluated to find out the possible cause. If ultrasound is not able to suggest the exact nature of the mass, better to go for MRI. If you are not having any problem with the mass, you can wait and watch for one to two months. Usually small endometrial polyps etc will come out with menstrual flow. Repeat the ultrasound after 2 months to see whether the mass is existing or disappeared. Take care.
